Student of the Month & School Policy Changes

Well I want to say I am so proud of my daughter for making student of the month again this month. This is her second time this year and she is so ecstatic. She was surprised that she was picked. The teacher never told her, but what upsets me is that we were never notified. Last year when my son was SOTM twice we were informed of it so we could go to the SOTM ceremony. Now this year since the Sandy Hook shootings everything has changed. We are not notified of anything that goes on. I understand they do these things for our kids protection but we should at least be able to go to these ceremonies still like we used to. We always had to sign in with security and now we can't even do that. It upsets me and there's nothing we can do about it. I have pictures from my son's ceremonies but none from my daughters and this was her first two SOTM awards ever! I am a little mad, and I am sure she was upset we weren't there for hers like we were for his.
The school policies have changed alot. The kids informed me that their classroom doors stay locked at all times. So if they have to go to the bathroom and come back they are locked out and have to wait for the teacher to let them in. I know its for their safety but if anything happens and they are not in the classroom, they are locked out with the danger. Does anyone else feel this is not right? We didn't even get a letter home letting us know they were even doing anything like that. I did however get a letter home about not being able to go anywhere past the new security desk. We have to wait there for our children to be brought down. That's fine with me.
I don't know. Maybe I see things differently. If anyone has any comments about this please feel free to speak your mind.

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow.

I will be the first to tell you, I hate snow. I hate the coldness, I hate the wetness, the fact it's so slippery, & all the car accidents because of it.

With that said, my kids had an emergency early release today due to snow. Thank god that the school has this system where it calls all the parents about the same time with a recording to let us know of such an emergency. Also teachers will call us to let us know they are releasing early.

With all the snow, rain, sleet, freezing rain, and then some more snow and rain, our roads are horrible here. I have seen 4 accidents so far today and it's not a good thing. I live in Upstate NY and we always get bad snow. If you haven't driven in the snow by now, people should not pick days like today to go out driving in it for the first time. I mean half these people have lived in Upstate NY almost all their lives or for a few winters now, to know enough to be cautious and know how to drive in it or stay off the road. Yet people still think that they can go 60 mph in this crap and nothing happen. I mean if you're not thinking about yourself when you choose to drive crazy at least take into consideration all the other people on the road who are being cautious enough. Please and Thank You.

Days like today make me want to snuggle up with some hot chocolate, a movie, warm blankets and my kids.

People it's snowing outside. Please stay safe.

Just another Monday

It's only 8:30am here and the kids are all up & ready for school. Of course the older two have the baby screaming at them already. My 1 year old has a temper on him. Right now he is yelling at his 7 year old brother "Thee." That's what he calls him. His name is Anthony. Logan is my youngest and he is hilarious and very outgoing. He has a wild personality. My boys are so different from each other. Anthony as a baby, barely cried, was always calm and kinda quiet. Logan is a tornado here. LoL I love them both so much. Then we have their 12 year old sister. She is very outgoing, loud, an very helpful. They all have their own unique personalities and sometimes they clash. Like this morning. Anthony wants to do one thing, like right now he said he wants to do a "cooking class" with play-doh, and Jenna is egging him on.. They want to be Logan's "teacher.." and homeschool him. They are planning all this stuff out while Logan pays no attention to them. He could care less. Pretty soon he will start yelling at them and controlling the situation like every other time. :) Haha Got to love it. Well the kids are almost ready for school so it's time to go.

New Year... New blogs...

Ok so now it's the new year and one of my resolutions is to blog more. I think now that my fiance finally found a job and my youngest is turning 2 soon, I will have more time to actually sit down and blog. I love to blog and it's been hard actually getting time to sit down and do it, but I think now that things are looking up for us I can have more time to blog.

Somethings I will be blogging about are my kids definitely, more reviews on products, my day, my life, and whatever else I feel like writing about. :) I like to keep a variety of things on here and not label myself to one thing. I like to try and keep things interesting. For instance, anyone who is following me, if you have kids, when did you know it was time to transition your little one from a crib to a toddler bed?? My son is 1 but turning 2 on April 1st and we just switched him into a toddler bed. He was climbing out of the crib almost every night, and it was on the lowest setting it could be on. So I knew it was time. I was afraid that if I left it a crib he would end up getting hurt one night w/o one of us knowing. Another thing, when did you start potty training?? We are starting now because he tells us he has to pee or whatever, but he won't sit on the potty chair! He acts like he is scared of his little potty when he has no pants on but will sit there like its a regular chair if he has pants on! Any suggestions to help us out??? Anything you tried?? He is definitely ready for it. :)

Also I have two other kids I like to blog about. I have a 7 year old son, and a 12 year old daughter (who is my step daughter but I love her like my own, & she even asked for me to adopt her.) She lives full time with us and never sees her own mother because she abandoned her. :( Has anyone gone through anything like this and wanted to adopt their step child? We are trying to figure out how to go about doing it? I heard if the other parent hasn't seen their child in over 6 months (its been over 6 years!!) that the adoption process will go quickly because she hasn't seen her making her have no rights at al. I don't know how true that is but I am just trying to find out.

Another you might like to know about me is I HATE DRAMA! My fiances family loves it and loves to create it. So from time to time I will blog about it only to blow off some steam. Some of them think that they are the greatest thing in the world, that they can do whatever and say whatever and nothing will be done. We all know how karma is so...

Well I hope you took some time today to read this little random to say the least, blog. Thank you.

Any thoughts? Questions?

Have a Great Saturday everyone!!

Palmolive Fresh Infusions

I was choosen to receive a special VoxBox from Influenster and Palmolive. I get the opportunity to try out Palmolive's new line of dish soaps. They are the new Palmolive Fresh Infusions. They come in three different scents, Lime Basil, Lemon Thyme, & Ginger White Tea. I must say that they smell amazing, and they work just as well. When you use them to do your dishes, you honestly do not need a large amount. It suds right up (perfectly) and lasted throughout all the dishes I had to do, and let me tell you I let them pile up just so I could test out this dishsoap.
You can find the new line of dish soap at Target for around 2.99 or Walmart about 2.96. So there isn't much of a price difference. It is a great price for the amount you get and how well this dish soap works.
I also would like to say that the scents are mild, but you can smell them. I recommend trying them all. :) They all smell great that it's hard to pick just one favorite, but if I had to I would say I love the Ginger White Tea the best. That is the one I stuck to using for now. The Ginger White Tea is my favorite because it has a subtle yet magnificent scent to it. I also like the fact that it's the color pink. :) My favorite color. The bottle also looks really nice on my counter only because most of the things in my kitchen are red and the pink actually goes well with it. :)
I decided on giving the Lemon Thyme to my mom because that is the scent she liked the best. It reminded her of when she was younger and the Palmolive scent my grandma always uses. She really loves the subtle scent and the amazing cleaning power of the new Palmolive dish detergents.
