Nanny's Knee Surgery

So awhile ago my grandma was told that she was going to need both knees replaced. She has put this off for some time now. I think it was the fact that she was scared mixed with the fact that she would be out of work for a few months. She loves work and hasn't missed a day since she started.
Well anyways at 5:30 this morning she had to be at the hospital to get ready and prepped for surgery. She was only having one knee done at a time. By 7:30/8am she was in surgery. About two hours or so later she was out of surgery and in recovery. I haven't spoken to her yet or been able to go to see her. She was doing good my mom said but she is in a lot of pain. Everytime they give her pain meds she goes right back to sleep. So at least she is comfortable for awhile.
Well she will be in the hospital for the next few days, and then headed across the street to the Nursing Home affiliated with the hospital. What's also a plus is that my aunt works there so she can see her during the day. She'll have to be in rehab for the next couple weeks til she can come home.
I am just hoping for a speedy recovery and hoping she will feel much better now that she had at least one knee done. Her knees have been bothering her for years now and she kept putting it off. Hopefully if any of you need the same thing done you won't put it off. It just makes it worse.
I will try and keep this updated on my grandma.

Have a great night everyone.

Taking a break..

As of right now I am taking a break from cleaning my house. I have a 2 story, 4 bedroom house I rent. I have 3 kids (unless you want to count my fiance as one, then that would make 4). They are 1, 6, and 12. They love to make messes but not clean up. I am trying to figure out some sort of system or something to make chores more fun for the older two. I need some suggestions. I just don't want to be the only one cleaning up all the time. There is so much space and stuff in my house, it just takes forever to clean. I love cleaning but it also takes a lot of energy from me. I am diabetic, have diabetic neuropathy among other things so I am on disability. I can't sit or stand for a long time, so this also puts a toll on how much I can and can't clean. I am also looking for some good ideas for decorating my place a little different (once I get some money). If anyone has any suggestions for me please let me know. It would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Laptop is fixed and back!

So I finally received my own laptop back after having to wait awhile for it. I am so excited because I can finally do anything I want with my laptop. My mom wouldn't let me save things to hers or anything like that. But hey I understand since it wasn't mine. I need to catch up on my reviews. I have one for Klutch Club, EOS, and Nuture Me that I have to write up. I am a little behind but I have had so much going on in the last few months, with my step father passing away, my mom's house burning down and then being finished, etc etc I just havent been online much. Well I am back now and hopefully Ill be posting a few times a day. I can't wait. Well I hope people enjoy reading what I post and I obtain more followers.

Dino Lingo

About 2 weeks ago I received my Mom VoxBox from influenster. There were so many great things inside the box for me and my kids to enjoy, including a dvd from Dino Lingo. Dino Lingo is formulated to help kids learn a new language. With all the diversity in schools these days (especially where we live) this was the perfect dvd to put in my box. My kids are 1, 6, and 12. My 1 year old just sat there and watched, I'm guessing he's just a little too young still. He is just starting to talk so hopefully he will catch on as quick as my other two did. They love the fact that they can learn spanish! I think its great because it teaches them and they have a early advantage when the get in middle school and have to pick a language. The dvd kept the kids very engaged with it. It was't boring. It was fun to just sit there and watch it with them. I am really thinking about ordering the whole dvd set. I would love for them to continue on learning more spanish and maybe some other languages. I really wish we had these when i was younger. It would've helped me out a lot in school. Head over to the DINO LINGO WEBSITE to find out more information, to order, and to receive a free lesson!

**NOTE** I received this product complimentary for testing purposes only

My imPRESS Press On Manicure was imPRESSive!

Recently I received my Mom VoxBox from Influenster. Inside that box was a set of imPRESS press on manicure from Broadway nails. Now I already have a set of acrylic nails on so I didn't think they would work for me, but I gave it a try anyways. To my suprise they went on super quick and super easy! They fit right over my acrylic nails. They actually stayed on until I wanted to take them off. When I did they didn't even ruin the nail polish underneath, which was pretty cool.

The nails took a little over a minute to get them all on! There's no drying time and the last about a week. A full set of nails are cheaper and go on much faster then when I go to the salon! Awesome. They also remove much easier then acrylic nails!!

The nails run about $5.99 for solid colors and $7.99 for patterns. How great is that?!? You can buy them at stores like CVS, Rite Aid, Duane Reade, Kmart, Walgreens, Walmart and more!
If you want a salon look and not the salon price or wait, then head to one of these retailers and pick up a set or two!

Also you can find out more about them head over HERE. That is the link to their website. They have a $1.00 off coupon on the site also!

**Note** I received these nails complimentary for testing purposes only.

"The Many Uses of Ivory"

I received Ivory Bar Soap from Ivory in my Influenster Mom VoxBox. I must say there are so many things you can do with Ivory. I actually have never tried Ivory Soap before and was a little skeptical about it since I  have sensitive skin. When I seen that it's 99.44% pure I was hooked. It's so pure it floats!
I immediately wanted to try it out as a face wash. It cleansed my face and didn't dry it out or irritate it. I really love that fact. I am now hooked on Ivory Soap and will be heading out to the store soon to get some!
Some other ideas that you can use the soap for are:
*As a body cleanser
*Clothes stain remover (I am going to be trying this one later)
*Laundry Flakes (and it's even cheaper then buying laundry detergent)
*Soap Carving Projects
*Soap Melting
*etc etc etc
Ivory Soap is one of the least expensive bars and body was on a per ounce basis. No need to buy something expensive when Ivory is so inexpensive and has so many uses! I truely am in love with this soap. I even use it on my kids delicate skin. Go out and grab yourself a bar or two and try one of the many uses of Ivory.

This is me using it as a face wash!

I received this product complimentary for testing purposes from Influenster and Ivory as a participant in the Mom VoxBox campaign

"Quaker Soft Baked Oatmeal Cookies"

I was choosen as a Mom VoxBox recipient from @Influenster. I was extremely excited about it because I haven't been choosen for a box up until now! I waited patiently for my box to arrive. When it did, I immediately opened it. I couldn't believe everything that was in it. I especially loved the fact that there was a Quaker Soft Baked Oatmeal Cookie inside. I immediately had to try it and have two of my kids try it. It was simply amazing! It was so soft and chewy I fell in love right away. It's not dry like other cookies, and it truely is "soft baked."
As of yesterday I went out and bought two more boxes of the cookies for my kids and I. They love them also. I am so glad I received the product to try.

NOTE: I received this product complimentary for testing and review purposes from Influenster.

My daughters first day of summer school

My daughter started her first day of summer school today. She is in a 12 month school program for students with disabilities/learning disabilities. She has adhd and has a hard time focusing in school and at home. She was just recently diagnosed with it. It does explain a lot about the way she behaves. She is just all over the place most of the time. We are taking it one day at a time.
Well my daughter had to wake up at 6:30 this morning. A hard thing to do for her. She likes to sleep in. She got up, got dressed, I did her hair, and she waited for the bus. It came at exactly 8am like they said it would. As she got on the bus I thought to myself that I hope she can control herself and be good.
She arrived home about 1:15. She had a good report from the bus monitor and she said she had fun in school and was good. She was mainly excited about not having homework! LoL
Well tomorrow is another day. Let's hope it goes as well as the first.

My favorite Raspberry Tart Cookie Recipe is the place I go when I need to find some good recipes. They have one on there for Raspberry Tart Cookies. I absolutely love these cookies and they are easy to make. Here is the recipe from

2 3/4 c. sifted all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 c. (2 sticks) butter, softened
1 pkg. (3 oz.) cream cheese, softened
1 c. granulated sugar
1 egg
1 jar (12 oz.) raspberry preserves
10x confectioners' sugar

Sift flour and baking powder onto wax paper. Beat butter, cream cheese, sugar and egg in a large mixing bowl until blended. Stir in flour mixture, blending thoroughly. Turn dough onto a sheet of wax paper (mixture will be sticky). Shape into a ball. Chill several hours or overnight.
Divide dough in half and refrigerate other half. Roll out to a thickness of 1/8 inch with a lightly floured rolling pin. Cut out with a 3 inch round cookie cutter as many circles as you can.

Place on ungreased cookie sheets. Roll out remaining dough; cut out in 3 inch circles. Cut out centers with a 1/2 inch round cutter. There should be an equal number of solid and cut-out circles. Bake in a moderate oven (350 degrees) for 8 minutes or until lightly browned. Remove cookie sheets from oven to wire racks. Let stand 1 minute before removing cookie sheets. Cool completely.

Heat preserves in a small saucepan to melt slightly. Spread each of the solid cookies with a thin layer of hot preserves.

Top each with cut-out circle and press together gently to form a sandwich. Place on wire racks. Sprinkle tops with 10x sugar. Spoon a dab of preserves into opening of each cookie. Let stand to firm slightly. Store in tightly covered containers in single layers with wax paper between each layer.

4th of July

I hope everyone had a great and safe 4th of July.

I took my kids to see the fireworks last night, and was a little hesitant as to doing so, because the news was talking about how this year they were going to allow drinking at the fireworks. Now normally when drinking is involved there always ends up being some trouble somewhere. As to my suprise there was no trouble that we could see and we all had a great time and enjoyed ourselves.

Remember if you drink, don't drive. And if you drive, don't drink!
